Washing the kitchen floor is my new favorite thing. You may think I'm crazy, but I must inform you that my mop is a very good dancer. We danced all over that kitchen and he didn't even get tired! And he knows how to dance swing, salsa, waltz, and tango. Also, when I finish mopping I get to scoot across the floor on a towel to dry it off! It's very exciting. Don't believe me? Well, next time I get to wash the floor I'll call you so that you can come over and try it. If you're lucky I might even let you use the vaccum! Now the vaccum isn't a terrific dancer, but he sings wonderfully. So if you want to take advantage of this amazing opportunity just tell me and I'll put you on the waiting list!

DISCLAIMER: the following entry is not funny. in fact it may be boring and dull, so read at your own risk.

Goodbye 2005.

Nothing I can say will accurately summarize my year, but I'm going to try anyway. In short, I'm proud of myself. I pushed myself harder in 2005 than I ever have in my life. I made some new friends and got closer to some old ones. I finally realized that studying really does make a difference, and I used that realization to my advantage. I didn't waste time (mostly because there wasn't any time to waste). I survived a whole month on my own [almost] in one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Lyon, France. What did I take away from that trip? confidence. I talked in French to people I had never met before and they understood me. But the most important parts of this trip are that I met an Australian priest that wore a cassock and could fall in love but not get married, I ate amazing food, and I kind of went on a date with a 20 something year old Irish guy. I also got my oboe this year. Best birthday present ever. Too bad I don't have time to play it as often as I would like. 2005 brought beauty that I can't even begin to describe, and some of that beauty is carrying over into the new year. Yay.

Hello 2006.

This year will be one of the toughest years of our lives, but I know I can do it. No matter what lies ahead I know that God will lead me through. Am I scared? heck. yes. But you know what, 2006? BRING IT ON

I wish you all an amazing year. Work hard, make yourselves proud, but most of all stay happy and have fun. Good luck with life, you only get this year once so make it the best you can. Love.

plans for tonight didnt work out. that was sad. however, the upside of this was that we decorated the christmas tree/inside of house.

singing ornament is on the tree

pickle is not hidden, but its there

santa is on the mantle

normal plates have been replaced with christmas ones

doo-dad enhancer is on the coffee table

christmas piano music is on the piano waiting for me to play it

poinsettas are by the door

wreath is on the door

christmas books are out

i wore the tree skirt as a cape, and i now have enough cookies and punch (rasberry sherbet(sp?) and 7up) in my tummy to last until tree decorating next year. not really, but i ate/drank a lot. now it really feels like christmastime.

Juli tagged me, so here goes!

15 things you probably don't know about me:

1. im scared of the dark...so scared that i still sleep with a lamp on.  i would survive without the lamp, but it makes me feel better to have it on.

2. i actually like my sister. we are friends and barely ever fight, and when we do fight its only for like 5 minutes and then we love each other again.

3. im a christian, but a lot of my friends arent. sometimes i worry about them.

4. i wish i played a sport. i like the feeling of being on a team, and when i see sports movies about happy teams i get jealous (even though i know movies arent all real)

5. music is my life. it takes up all my time and doesnt really allow me to do anything else. i love it, but my career will most likely not have anything to do with music.

6. i want to be an architect, but i dont know if my portfolio will be good enough to get into any of the good architecture schools. it worries me because i dont really have a backup option.

7. ive lost a lot of friends just because we havent had time to see each other.  im not the kind of person that can keep a relationship going well by phone or email or whatever, so a lot of my friends have just drifted off. there are some people right now that i worry about losing, and that makes me sad.

8. i hate calling people unless they are my very close friends. a few years ago whenever i had to call someone that wasnt my friend i would beg my parents to do it for me. they never would. its not that bad now, but i still dont like it.

9. it takes a long time for me to make close friends, but when i do make them they have my complete trust and we can talk about everything.

10. i love reading, but i dont have time to do much reading for fun anymore. i have a bookshelf in my room with five shelves that are overflowing with books.  ive read them all, and some i think ive read 20 or more times. i still go back and read my favorite books from elementary school sometimes, and most of those books are in very bad shape because i read them so much. when i was little and my parents sent me to my room they would tell me that i wasnt allowed to read.

ll. i have this weird love of sorting things. when i was little i liked to sort and count my money, and i always sort my halloween candy before eating it. i also sort mnms and make pretty pictures with them. something about it calms me.

12. i am very frustrated with campbell's band, and i almost left at the end of freshman year and again halfway through sophomore year so that i could go to kennesaw mountain and be in their band. the only reason i stayed was ib. i dont think i wouldve been very happy with myself if i had left ib, though life right now would be a lot easier.

13. one of my worst fears is getting stuck in georgia for college. ga tech is the only georgia school on my list, and its at the very bottom simply because i want to get out. its not that i want to leave my family, i just need a change. i want to meet different kinds of people and see new things, and atlanta is not different enough for me. ive never understood why anyone wouldnt like change, but i guess thats just who i am.

14. im pretty stingy with my money. i would my rather buy an experience (such as going to the movies or the fair or whatever) than a thing, and when i do buy things i make sure theyre things i absolutely want and will use without a doubt. for example, ive wanted those amazing tennis shoes that i got last weekend for about a year, but i wouldnt buy them until now because i didnt really need them and wouldnt spend the money. last weekend they were on sale.

15. it took a long time for me to open up at campbell...i think i was scared that people wouldnt like who i am. football games this year are so much fun because im willing to dance and make a fool of myself. last year i didnt open up like that until the last game, but im glad i did. now everyone gets to see how silly i am

that is all.
